My dad and I are now trying to work through my granddad's many pieces of paper of various branches of the tree in order to make sure that all of his many years of investigation and meticulous noting are documented here. This will give us a basis of knowing where to investigate next. My dad is interested in going to the register office in Edinburgh and seeing if we can get further back on the Paterson line, so watch this space!

I've also started buying various scans of birth, marriage and census certificates from scotlandspeople.gov.uk of key people in my ancestor line which has gleaned some more information ‎(including finding a namesake of mine born in 1799)‎. Hopefully these pics will make it onto the site when I work out how to do that!

Having mentioned some countries in our tree in the last post I should probably add on a few more that there are known links with, namely Ireland, New Zealand and Chile.

Here lieth the familytree of a variety of Patersons ‎(and numerous others)‎, scattered across the globe in the UK, South Africa, Australia... and who knows where else!

All records from the past 100 years are classed as 'private' to the casual viewer to maintain privacy. If you think you might be on this tree ‎(or should be)‎ and want to look around more, then contact me using the link at the bottom of the page and I can maybe give you the username/password depending upon your credentials!

If you have your own family tree software, then you should be able to add records to a cart, download and then import into your software.

Lastly, but most importantly, if you spot any mistakes, or have any additions then do get in touch!
